At Portland Muse Collective and Knot Just Waxin' Studios, we pride ourselves in our inclusivity and customer service. Here are some of our more frequently asked questions. A: A Brazilian wax is the complete removal of the hair on the pubic region, so your parts and the butt crack. You do have the option, however, of either going completely bare or leaving a small landing strip or triangle of hair above the pubis bone. no matter how much I would love to leave you with a star or heart It just simply won't turn out right !

Q: What exactly is a Brazilian?

A: We require that you have at least a 3 week hair growth. Especially for your first wax, the longer your hair is, the better your wax will be. It is supey dupey important to have enough hair growth when you come for your appointment. This allows the wax to grab the hairs easily. If your hair is too short, we will ask you to reschedule your appointment.

Q: How long does the hair have to be to get waxed?

A: Nothin! No need to cancel! It doesn't bother us. Just use a tampon and we will work around the string. You may be a little more sensitive though - in which case nothing a ibuprofen can't solve! Or if you just aren't into it give us 24 hours we can reschedule not a big deal. We are here for you.

Q: What happens if l'm on my period?

A: The recommendation is every 4 /5 weeks. That goes for everything: brows to legs to Brazilian. Some clients experience a slower or faster rate of hair growth, and that time can be changed accordingly. Your waxing professional will help you gauge when you should return.

Q: How often should I schedule?

Q: I use Retinol? What about acne medication? Medication in general?

A: You should refrain from using waxing as a hair-removal method if you are using Retin-A (currently or in the last 3 months), Acutance (currently or in the past 4 months), other keratolytic medications (that increase skin exfoliation), or are sunburned or recovering from a recent laser peel. Please inform your waxing professional about any and all medication that could affect skin sensitivity.

Q:Is there a referral program?

A: Yes! We have a referral program, and punch card. After your first referral you and your first time buddy get 20%. After your fifth client ya get 50% and after your tenth referral you get100% off! That's right! A free wax!

Q: Gendering?

A: At knot just waxin' the goal is to not have to identify your body. We want hair removal right?

So what's the difference in our body parts... we are just taking away the hair. EVERYONE is welcome. this is a SAFE space that is not just a strictly femme space. We are sex positive - sex industry friendly accept cash and prefer it that way.

A: Our cancellation policy requires at least 24 hours to reschedule ya, and a debit or credit card is needed to hold your appointment. If a appointment is canceled or rescheduled within 24 hour period or missed completely 50% of the appointment will be charged to the card on file. of course if there is an exception due to an emergency or something related we can wave it.

Q: What's your cancellation policy?

A: Shoot a text! Or call !because we may have to reschedule. Depending on what service you are getting done .. if I take a guest late, chances are I will be late for the next appointment. And for the one after that, and, well...you get the idea. I want you to have time to relax, and enjoy a beverage or a snack before your appointment and get a tour!

Q: What if I'm runnin' late?

A: Well because waxed hair grows back smooth and Fine, unlike the stubble that shaving causes. Each time you wax, the hair follicle weakens and can eventually die, leaving you with less hair. Waxing also lasts significantly longer than other hair removal methods.

Q: Why should I wax as opposed to an alternative?

A: If it's longer than a half inch. Or a long piece of jasmine rice. The answer is yes. We are a small buisness and we do our own laundry! Just the answer is yes.

Q:Will my hair grow back thicker?

A: No way! Waxing does not cause you to grow more hair follicles.

In fact, if you become a regular waxer, you will notice that your hair will become sparse and not as coarse. Thats why exfoliating is key

Q: Whats the age limit for a Brazilian?

A: 18. However, guests between the age of 16-18 may receive Bikini with parental consent. All guests under the age of 16 are required to have a parent in the room for the entirety of the service.

A: The answer to that is a hard no. Hair removal does not change the pigmentation of hair. Your hair color is determined by the amount of a pigment called melanin in hair. An abundance of one type of melanin, called eumelanin, gives people black or brown hair.

Q: Will my hair grow back darker?

A: Heres the scoop It's just me in the space and whoever l'm waxing - whoever is in the lobby will have to be responsible for themselves .. So if the kiddo is old enough to chill solo they can hang in the lobby area no problem.

Q:Can I bring my kiddo/s?

A: Yes there is parking In the neighborhood!

Plenty of parking around be sure to give yourself time with traffic and time to park!

Q: Parking?

A: Take a mild pain reliever like ibuprofen or Motrin about 30 minutes before your appointment. This can help to lessen any pain you may experience during your services. Also pro tip- waxing during ovulation is less painful!

Q:What if I have a low pain threshold?
